Karina - Signed limited edition archival pigment print on an textured art paper - Edition of 8 Photography : 2009 Bichromate print : 2010 Provenance : Ian Sanderson’s Estate Several negatives was used to create a handmade print with a 19th. century technique involving light sensitive watercolour and gum arabic. This is a long process using several layers of colour in order to build up the image. Due to the complexity of accurately registering each layer, the print created is unique. This one-off print was photographed then printed on a textured Hahnemühle paper (Acid-free, Museum quality paper for highest age resistance ). Here is this signed giclé print with an exceptional resolutions. Numbered by artist with certificate of authenticity. Edition : 1/8 Ian Sanderson (born 1951 Scotland, died 2020 Spain) was a Scottish photographer. He produced images over a 35 year career, and in recent years used archival techniques to produce his prints. For most of his career he worked as both a Commercial and Fine Art photographer, and during his last years concentrated on his personal imagery. Towards the end of his life journey, Ian was reviving with his partner two 19th century printing techniques, Platinum Palladium and Gum Bichromate ( one-of-a-kind pieces). This culminated in a large retrospective exhibition in Barcelona which was sponsored by the 'Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation’. The Platinum and Palladium prints are particularly interesting as he printed them onto ‘vellum’, and bonded pure gold or silver to the back of the prints ( every print is therefore a unique and timeless piece of art). Ian created rare and customized pieces and each piece was totally original and a “one-off”. Ian Sanderson was one of only a handful of artists worldwide producing this type of work. Nowadays, Ian’s partner continues their work and she’s still creating prints. Please note that prices increase as editions sell. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
