José Penicheiro (1921-2014)
Considered by many the “Last Modernist” Portuguese Artist.
He is the author of several Tile Mural Panels throughout Portugal and the founder of the “Aveiro/Arte” Plastic Arts Circle. Wherever he went, he always left a trail of longing and friendship, as he did not limit himself to exhibiting his work, but enjoyed conversations with visitors. In addition, he was a cultivator of gatherings, not only about painting, but also about poetry, literature and music.
