This beautiful artwork was painted by Durand Louis in 1950. This particular piece shows some people relaxing and fishing in "Le Canal", in the St Martin area of Paris. Born in the early 1900s, Durand Louis became one of France's leading Mid Century impressionist painters.
Stand and stare at this painting long enough and its rich textures and vivid colors draw you in and transports you back to lazy Parisian afternoons!
Oil on canvas, it has a black wood composite frame which measures: 21 3/4" height x 25" width x 1 3/8" depth. The actual image measures 17 3/4" height x 21" width.
It weighs 4lb 2oz.
Written on the back in pen it says "Paris, Le Canal, St Martin, 1950, Durand-Louis". A sticker on the back (below writing) tells us that later in its life this painting was framed at the "Memento" framing company in Santa Monica.
This beautiful painting is a real collectors piece and will be the talk of any room it finds itself in. less
