Description: Exquisite antique turquoise and white cloisonné bowl with lid. A fine example of the expert Chinese craftsmanship predating the 1930's, … more Exquisite antique turquoise and white cloisonné bowl with lid. A fine example of the expert Chinese craftsmanship predating the 1930's, the bowl has an intricate copper wire key fret background design with a scrolling floral motif. The light blue and white are typical of the prewar period. Like most Chinese cloisonné, it has a matte finish. CHINA is hand scribed on the bottom in red. The gilded edges are still intact but have a lovely dark patina. There are signs of copper patina throughout the key fret design. The knob is missing a couple pieces of enamel revealing copper underneath. There are no other missing pieces of enamel. The bowl is a truly lovely example of Chinese craftsmanship. The bowl measures: 5.25" in diameter and 4.5" in height to the top of the knob. less
