Finely constructed of Burl Walnut the bookcase section sits over a hidden desk and two drawers on cabriole legs and pad feet. Fine detailing throughout. This antique features form, function, and classic design, with an arched dome top and traditional accents. The craftmanship is wonderful. There is a lamp built in, however, the cord has been severed on the back of the piece. The desk also has a drawer and several coin holders.

This Bookcase/desk was made by the Skandia Furniture Company which began in February, 1889 and ceased in 1942, in Rockford, Illinois. Many immigrants from Sweden in the 1890s and early 1900s, the Skandia Company was their first place of employment. less
