Superb form, with a single vertical splat backrest with solid seat top. Stretchers to both sides and back, with a lovely worn front footrest. Each has a lovely light natural elm finish with beautifully aged patina. Please note that the decorative element of the bottom of the footrest is missing on one chair. (pictured)

We are far from experts when it comes to Chinese antiques, but believe these chairs to be mid to late 19th Century. They were purchased in the 1980s at an Antique shop in Manhattan that specialized in Chinese antiquities.
