My art is heightened by an interesting abandoned piece’s imperfection. Like in this piece, exposure to high humidity over 100 years, most likely caused this table’s veneer to expand around the frame; resulting in the raised band in the middle.

The good news is imperfections release artistic endorphines in me. I restore, create and include unique, tantalizing features like the black leather trim that encircles the bottom side rim.

After all, what’s not to love in gazing upon a butterfly veneer.
