For this purpose … more This chair was specially manufactured by ton* for the czech restaurant chain "svejk restaurant" (founded in 1995). For this purpose ton added a "medaillon" to chair no. 14, designed around 1859 by michael thonet, depicting "the good soldier svejk", a creation by the czech illustrator, painter and writer josef lada (1887-1957) for the book by the writer jaroslav hasek (1883 – 1923): the adventures of the good soldier svejk. Marked ton on the back of the backrest.

*ton is the official continuation of the thonet company in the czech republic, at the time, 1953, still czechoslovakia. This piece has an attribution mark,
