This type of wooden box was used for storing, transporting, or presenting various items, ranging from art objects (ceramics) and tea sets to traditional crafts (lacquerware).
The box is inscribed with the characters "椀" and "武指人前," and it was used to store rice or soup bowls.
This mokubako has removable panels on two sides and is divided into compartments inside. At the top, there is a wooden handle for easy carrying or transportation.
A traditional, authentic Japanese object, ideal for displaying small items.
