An excellent antique military campaign chest in camphor wood and brass.
The brass mounts are of extremely high quality, even the internal supports that keep the top from falling back have a beautiful twisted design. There are also very strong metal handles on the sides made to transport this around, they are definitely strong enough for the purpose.
This is a great size, it would be very useful as a coffee table, as a blanket chest, or as hallway storage.
Camphor wood is known for its lovely fragrance, and when you open this, it does smell amazing! This has a gorgeous colour and lovely grain patterns, there are various small marks and indentations here and there, commensurate for age.
