A handsome cutlery or letter box with a beautiful and unusual satinwood patera design inlaid on the lid. Tulipwood crossbanding and line stringing finish the edges. Nice figure to the mahogany which carries through from the top through the front, cut from a single piece. The interior is fitted with eight compartments. Late 18th c century. Good antique condition with signs of age and use, small restorations, sun fading to the sides, nice French polished finish.
