Papier-mâché and black lacquer, with painted daylily center, gilt detailing, elaborate mother of pearl inlays. Original hand-caned seat.

Overall fair antique condition given age and use. The high back is slightly loose from the seat, with evidence of prior glue attempts. Cracks to the lacquer and center as shown. Assorted nicks and scratches, with a more pronounced dent to the one side of the back. Heavy wear to the lower legs and feet. . A few loses to the pearl, especially on the front side of the seat. Caning in excellent condition. Despite all, presents extremely well. But recommend decorative use only. less
