The stand has a bit of a backward lean which looks to us like a design element. The tiger oak has a beautifully aged finish and patina that only comes with many decades of gentle use. The wood base bowl holder shows a full-width split which does not take away from the structural integrity of the stand, please see the last photo composite for the close-up details. The brass bowl shows the most character and wear with plenty of patina, verdi gris, oxidation, small dents, scratches, scuffs and deformed areas from umbrella tips, all typical of age and use. less
