Fantastic bucket from the Southwest of France most likely used … more 19th century French dovetailed copper bucket or jardiniere with handle.
Fantastic bucket from the Southwest of France most likely used as a milk churn. It has a snake form wrought iron handle and great patina. The dovetail construction is a testament to its age and quality. Flat copper sheets were hammered by hand into shape then jointed together and braised (like welding but finer work).
Use it a a jardiniere or whatever you choose. It is a beautiful piece with lots of character and will make a nice rustic statement. less
