Two tiny ones on the creamer and one tiny one on the tea pot handle. The hardly visible one on the creamer is blocked by the monogram. I had not seen any of them until I looked very diligently before posting this. These pieces are unusually "fat" for a tea service; they are absolutely beautiful. You will enjoy and be proud of this handsome and significant sterling tea service from the Art Deco era. less

Wow! Original sterling silver R. Wallace & Sons 3 piece tea set. This set is beautiful and the pieces are really very large. The set was manufactured and sold between 1916 and 1917.
In the pictures you will see a photo of the catalog that introduces this pattern. The catalog is called "B-17". The set was simply named pattern 1306 by R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co. The Wallace catalog documents the age of this elegant and unusually large sterling silver tea service.
There is a very beautiful monogram on each of the three pieces. It looks like a lovely decoration and I am unable to decipher what the monogram is. It looks like some charming swirls.
The pictures show that each individual piece has on its' bottom, the pattern number (1306), the Wallace sterling stamp, and the amount that each piece will hold: 1/2 pint for the cream pitcher, 2.5 pints for the tea pot (with a 14 underneath that) and a mysterious zero on the bottom of the huge, lidded sugar bowl. A dry weight measure?
Wallace Siversmiths was purchased by Hamilton Watch Company in 1959. In 1986 Syratech Corporation bought the business.
So, this tea set is a lovely historical piece of the beautiful story of young Robert Wallace, the son of Scottish immigrant and silversmith James Wallace and his wife Irene (Williams). Both, had immigrated to America in the late 18th century.
In 1833, at the age of 16, Robert became a silversmith apprentice in Prospect, Connecticut. This unique and gorgeous tea set is a piece of the honorable Wallace silver heritage that produced some of the finest sterling silver flatware and holloware products in the United States .
