Cupid bronze by Simon-Louis Boizot, ( 1743-1809) French after the original marble now found in the Louvre. It is a great image of a young and athletic cupid pulling the bow in a very powerful twisting of the torso, the large and wonderful wings, and the direct intensity of the expression. created about 1772 in white marble. This bronze is early-19th after the original. The bronze has no markings. The size is 21.5" tall on a rectangular base 10.5" by 7".
The condition is excellent condition.. Nice olive bronze patina, late 19th century edition. unsigned.
