This is a fabulous pair of vintage Model 190 side chairs designed by German designer Hans Roericht for Wilkhahn. They date from the late 1970s or early 1980s. They are upholstered in their original wonderful rich purple fabric and they sit on truly spectacular 5-foot sleek modern metal bases. Each chair retains the original Wilkhahn labels and the bases are also stamped. These chairs are of fixed height and do swivel.
If I am permitted to editorialize, I'd have to say they are perhaps the most comfortable chairs of their type I have ever sat in. The back rest flexes and curves gently back and one feels hugged by the cushions. No hype, these are great chairs and they typify that great period of German product design and manufacturing.
Both chairs are in very good condition with only minor nicks and some typical foot wear to the base. The fabric is bright and clean with no stains or damage. They look great and are ready to use. less
