Description: An antique kneeling Jesus Christ that is hand carved from wood, with polychrome, glass eyes and a small wooden staff/ … more An antique kneeling Jesus Christ that is hand carved from wood, with polychrome, glass eyes and a small wooden staff/ cane in his left hand. He is on his knees and looks as if he is speaking with God or speaking to his followers. I believe this sculpture is from the late 1700's or early 1800's.
This piece was acquired from a 92 year old minister who had received it many years prior (1960's-70's) from an elderly (aged late 80's - early 90's) woman of his congregation as a gift. As she had no family, she wanted it to be passed to someone who would take good care of it and appreciate it. It was passed down in her family through many generations.
