A smartly matted set of five original 18th century sea shell engravings drawn and engraved by Andreas Hoffer and Paul Kuffner for Les Délices Des Yeux et de L’Esprit or Collection Générale des Différentes Espèces de Coquillages Que La Mer Renfermé, by German naturalist and artist George Wolfgang Knorr (1705-1761). Plate impression marks visible on all. Hand coloring, laid paper. Nice condition with minimal toning except for one with moderate toning, two collection marks on all sheets, each sheet double matted in deep cream on orange with a black cutaway and framed in contemporary silver metal frames. Some marks, scratching to all frames, not obtrusive.
