Description: This secretary or dressing table opens at the waist with a drawer featuring a functional lock with inlaid escutcheon and … more This secretary or dressing table opens at the waist with a drawer featuring a functional lock with inlaid escutcheon and key.
Inside, the drawer is equipped with a sliding shelf in green leather with a gilded cold-pressed vignette.
The set is accompanied by three compartments, one of which features a brass container.
The uprights rest on a concave pedestal at the front, ending in blackened wood feet, clawed at the front and turned at the back.
The upper part, darkened by a mercury mirror, is composed of two pilasters supporting a small Belgian granite marble that has undergone a slight later restoration.
This writing table will be appreciated for its functionality and clean lines for a piece of furniture from the Retour d'Égypte period.
