About the artist:
Known throughout the world for his depictions of whales, dolphins, and other marine life, acclaimed environmental artist Wyland has painted his first pure seascapes. The two companion pieces, with light and colors inspired by Wyland is home on Hawaii, were painted in oval formats to reflect the continuous cycle of nature that has made Hawaii famous. In "Warm Tropical Paradise", the artist transports the viewer to a magnificent Hawaiian sunset, where gentle waves lap against a serene sandy beach and nature remains a sanctuary untouched by man. "A Moonlight Paradise" shares a quiet evening of island splendor, as a full moon illuminates a perfect wave. Here, Wyland showcases the delicate water balance between land and sea with tropical waterfalls cascading over a dramatic landscape. "I have been drawn to the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands for many years," Wyland says. "These two new oil paintings are my way of sharing with my collectors some of the natural wonders that I have experienced." less
