Description: I am afraid that I know very little about these tea containers. I know they were made in Glasgow and … more I am afraid that I know very little about these tea containers. I know they were made in Glasgow and it appears from their style and their patina that they are likely Victorian era. They have a Chinese motif that is gold leaf over black paint with red and white paint accent. They are steel with tin lining on the top. All I know for sure is that they are in impeccable condition for their age if they were either shipping containers (they are standardized in their dimensions) or they were used in a retail as a display container. I have never seen another set like them. My late-Mother, and then later I used them as end tables in the Living room, as they are a perfect size for that application. They are very special pieces, very rare and very fine. less
