This work is part of Woods' long-running Linear/Field series, his field of work created largely through intuition and exploration. Many of the works in this series present initial developments of the defining characteristics and processes found in his later works. As such, the works in this series are of key importance in his oeuvre, enabling him to expand his visual vocabulary.

An artist with a deep commitment to craft, Brandon Woods’ paintings are on linen-wrapped art panels, hand stretched by the artist using an archival method which he developed to protect and preserve the linen while allowing it to maintain its natural appearance. No additional framing is necessary, as the linen on sides of the work is an extension of the work and integral to its presentation. The work is created and varnished using exclusively archival materials as well, to protect from UV rays and to ensure that the vivid colors in his works will maintain their consistency and intensity. All mounting hardware is attached to the back of the work. The work is signed, titled, and dated on the back. The work comes in a custom made, reusable box which is designed specifically for this piece to be stored and transported safely. less
