This rare original vintage 1980 " Fiorucci " New Wave Italian Fashion Post Modern lithograph print collector's Laurie Rosenwald Pop Art poster is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection. It is printed in Italy in 1980 by Nava Milanio SPA. It features an original Post Modern Memphis style artwork by the well known American artist, designer, and author Laurie Rosenwald ( B.1955 ).
The world famous Italian fashion rand Fiorucci was founded in 1967 by Elio Fiorucci. The first shop exposed Milan to the styles of swinging London and American classics such as the t - shirt and jeans. By the late 1970's this would be reversed, and the New York store would become famous for the fashions it introduced in The United States.
In the early 1980's the Fiorucci boutique in New York City was the epicenter of the New Wave Post Modern fashion scene. It was the place to be, and referred to as " The Daytime Studio 54 ". It attracted trendsetters including Andy Warhol, Jackie O., Debbie Harry, and a young Madonna among many other creative and well known people.
Fiorucci made better posters than any fashion brand ever did. The posters sold the clothing for sure, but the posters were the product, also. They were hugely desirable. Clothing inside the closet / posters hung on the closet door. Fiorucci posters were a collectible Pop culture phenomenon.
The rare out of print original vintage Fiorucci New Wave collector's Pop Art poster measures 19" W X 27" H. It is in very good vintage condition consistent with age, use, and some signs of handling.
