The material is a soft dense wool, all natural vegetable dyes. All the corners are intact, the selvage edge top and bottom is intact and has a nice detail of alternating red and blue geometric shapes, both ends have white wool fringe, not cotton as you find in lesser quality pieces. Both sides on the vertical axis are finished in hand edged navy wool .Very finely woven and hand knotted , see the close up photo with tape measure of KPSI - knots per square inch. It really is in pristine condition, I checked the some imperfections because it is a handmade vegetable dyed piece , which naturally will have some character differences, it is not a perfect rectangle as a machine made rug would be. less
