Large neoclassical style giltwood and gesso overmantle mirror features a laurel wreath crown, acanthus leaf garland, and flowers, creating a detailed pattern that celebrates the architecture and symbolism of ancient Greece.
Please note that the mirror itself is imperfect and loosely installed, and the original backing is missing, indicating it is not original to the frame. We recommend replacing it with a new mirror, which can be professionally installed by a local glass shop. A beveled mirror would accentuate the beauty of the frame even more! This option would allow us to ship the frame empty and reduce the shipping price.

The gesso is chipped at the bottom left corner and the top right corner of the frame, exposing the wood beneath. The very top point of the central wreath is chipped, which is not noticeable without close inspection. The vertical garlands show thin, fine cracks in their gesso. The mirror has a large, central scratch, some minor pitting, and small permanent smudges. It is loosely set in the frame, so we recommend having it professionally replaced at a local glass shop. less
