A very traditional rounded form porcelain ginger jar with carved wooden cover hand painted with a wrap-around scene in vibrantly rich colorful enamels. This jar portrays a colourful parade with a mother & children riding the mythical Kilin with attendants, flying kites. A pair of burnt orange auspicious bats decorate the back. Gorgeous crimson reds, emerald greens, oranges and pale yellow.
Classic antique piece and the condition is excellent.
No markings.
Circa 1890.
