A fantastic vintage decorative brass Ice Block Tongs. The tongs are designed to resemble the original iron tongs that were used in 19th century ice houses when homes needed large blocks of ice as refrigeration. The tongs were essential as large blocks of ice were difficult to carry, they were cold, wet and heavy. These decorative tongs are made of heavy weight solid brass. It is designed with a round wall mounting plate and may serve as a towel bar, paper towel holder or a work of art.
Mounting screws are required.
