Vintage Incalmo Vase by Vetreria Archimede Seguso 1972 A vintage Venetian art glass vase manufactured by Vetreria Archimede Seguso in 1972. Clear glass with smoky grey underlay. Two bands in white alabastro glass, fused horizontally ('doppio incalmo'). Signed with company label at the bottom. An authentic piece of Murano art glass designed and manufactured by one of the greatest Venetian glass masters. For centuries the name Seguso has been associated with glass art from Murano. Archimede Seguso (1909-1999) is the master glassmaker of the family history of the 20th century. In the 1950s Archimede showed all his genius with creations like the 'Merletto' (lacework) the 'Reticello Piume' (feathers) or the 'Polveri' (powdered) series. The cooperation with Tiffany & Co allowed Seguso new opportunities for great collections. In 1989 Archimede Seguso celebrated his 80th birthday in New York with a solo exhibition - the title speaks for itself: The Master of the Masters. His worldwide exhibitions are always a box office hit and are sometimes extended twice. Measures: Height: 9.45" (24 cm) Diameter: 4.33" (11 cm) Literature Reference: Massimo Micheluzzi, 100 Vetri Di Archimede Seguso, Forli 1998 Rosa Barovier Mentasti, Adriano Berengo, The Secret of Murano, Venice 1997, page 56. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
