The finish … more Pair of French Art Deco 1930s Mahogany and Faux Shagreen Dining Chairs. Elegant lines and very well made. The finish has some scuffs as expected with 80 year old chairs and the back connectors have had glue dry out. This is also a common occurrence and easily rectified. I have a professional cabinet maker in our building, "Willie Willette Works" who has looked at the pair. He said this is an easy fix at $40.00 per chair. We would be happy to accommodate buyers with this service for the extra charge. On the other hand, we understand that many buyers prefer to use their own craftspeople. The chairs are NOT broken, simply needing a maintenance re-glue at these joints. The original faux shagreen is in excellent condition with only minor wear. The shagreen would benefit by a normal cleaning as well. Otherwise, these chairs are a rare and fantastic example of the French Art Deco Era. less
