Title: "The Bridge" Console Table.
Artist/Designer: Florian Roeper (Studio Roeper).
Origin: Napa, California, USA.
Period: 2020s.
Materials: Walnut / Etched Bronze.
Description: Offered is a hand-crafted console table, features 74 hand fitted joints in walnut that surround an etched bronze surface with tapered supports. The piece is sealed with several coats of an industrial-grade lacquer. Signed Florian Roeper.
About the piece: "I like to call this my masterpiece. THE BRIDGE is the story of so many of us. Of our parents and of our ancestors. The story of leaving your homeland [in my case, Germany] to pursue the American Dream. Trading one culture for another. Leaving behind and looking ahead all at once. But letting go altogether is not an option. THE BRIDGE is a metaphorical bridge to embrace the new, uncharted territory, and to honor the tradition and legacy of home. For so many years I thought that I was just a visitor living abroad. I finally realized that I am living the American story.
I designed this piece back in 2002 for my senior thesis at art school. It is still one of my best-sellers to this day." (Florian Roeper)
