Antique Chinese Kangxi Period (1662-1722) ormolu mounted blue and white porcelain ginger jar. The pierced everted rim decorated with lozenges, the body with shaped reserves containing archaistic vessels. Extensive damages and restoration; vase reassembled with visible signs of cracks, fill and overpaint. Metal cylinder liner added to the ormolu collar inside the vase. Measures 10" tall x 10 1/4" diameter.
Provenance: Ann and Gordon Getty, San Francisco. Sold Christie's London - from Villa Bombrini in Genoa, Italy - December 11, 2001.
