Condition: Very good antique condition. Print itself is in great condition -- light yellowing due to age, and one crease (hidden by the mat). Matting shows toning, paper discoloration, and small water stain. - See photos.

Details: Hopper Emory (1881-1939). Signed 1937 finely detailed cityscape of New York City prominently showing the Empire State Building shortly after construction in the 1930s. Etching signed in pencil lower right annotated in pencil lower left. Emory was born in Baltimore Maryland and had a successful career in banking before he turned exclusively to his artwork. He traveled to England where he studied at the Heatherley School of Fine Art in London then returned to Maryland where he became known for his delicately rendered architectural and maritime etchings. less
