Anna and carlo bartoli for rossi di albizzate sofa. Postmodern designer sofa model 'tube' designed by anna & carlo bartoli for italian high-end furniture manufacturer rossi di albizzate. This iconic sofa has a metal frame padded with polyurethane foam and two tubular aluminum supports. It has a beautiful, sculptural profile and retains its original black fabric. Stamped ‘rossi di albizzate tube design. C e a bartoli’ on metal feet. Sourced in italy, the 1990s. The tube sofa was awarded the if award for good industrial design in 1996. It was pictured in the 'design italiano per un nuovo paesaggio domestic post stamp series issued by poste italiane in 2001. Carlo bartoli (1931-2020) was an italian architect and designer with works included in the permanent design collection of the museum of modern art in ny and the design museum of the milan triennale. He was awarded the adi compasso d'oro for lifetime achievement. The sofa remains in excellent vintage condition, and the structure is without defects; the polyurethane padding is in good condition, and the black fabric shows some minor traces of use and discoloration on the backrest.
