Paco Muñoz pair of 'Riaza' lounge chairs In Walnut and Cognac Leather, Spain 1960s Paco Muñoz designed this pair of 'Riaza' lounge chairs in Spain during the 1960s for Darro. The chairs are made of a sturdy walnut frame and cognac leather, which is loosely attached to the frame using strapped straps. This design gives the chairs a unique aesthetic look. The age-appropriate, attractive patina adds to the authentic look of these items. The chairs are in excellent condition overall despite the patina on the wood and leather. These lounge chairs can be a great addition to any room, including living spaces, home theaters, or offices. They would also be perfect in hospitality spaces like boutique hotel lobbies, cocktail bars, or member clubs. Repurposing existing furniture for a second, third, or even fourth life promotes sustainability, and using midcentury designs is a great way to achieve this. This type of furniture is known for its high quality and durability, often lasting for many years and retaining its rich history with visible signs of wear. Paco Muñoz (1929 - 2009) founded Darro in 1959 as a movement against the recently fallen Franco Regime and to break through the cultural isolation. The design company Darro focused on creating furniture with a focus on European modernity, neglecting the more traditional Spanish styles. Darro's furniture was inspired by Italian designers such as Gio Ponti and Scandinavian Modern, and these design aesthetics are visible in the furniture. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
