Originally from Old Salem NC. My grandfather was born in Old Salem in 1902. He attended the boys school on the corner of the square. This table was used as a desk in his fathers tinsmith workshop.
I believe it’s dated to the early 1800’s. Mortise and tenon construction, hand turned spindle legs, and breadboard ends on the table top.
Far from perfect. But very sturdy and strong. Has been restored and one side of the breadboard has been repaired (the piece that joins the tabletop planks together). There is a crack on the top surface. It does not affect the stability or strength of the table.
30.5” x 23.5” x 27.5” tall.
