Offered is a vintage French Jaspé pottery wine serving carafe or jug. This beautiful piece has swirls of light brown, green, and dark brown slip glaze on a yellow ground. Created in France during the mid 20th century, this pottery wine jug would be a lovely addition to your kitchen or table. It can be used to serve beverages.
The marble like swirls of slip glaze (Jaspé) decoration is typical of pottery originating in the Savoie region of France.
This carafe measures 9.25 inches tall and 5.75 inches wide. The opening of the carafe measures 3.0 inches. It is in overall excellent condition with a few flea bites to the rim. Hard to see but mentioned for accuracy. Please see all of the photos as they are an important part of the description.
