A vintage Maitland-Smith floor lamp made of brass and bronze with a leather shade. The base rises from brass disc …

A vintage Maitland-Smith floor lamp made of brass and bronze with a leather shade. The base rises from brass disc feet leading to curling bronze elements then to a single bronze upright. The upright terminates with a brass detail issuing an espaliered flowering tree and two candlestick arms. The gold tooled cream leather shade is lined with a deliberately mottled foil interior and tipped with a bronze finial. The label affixed to the base reads "Hand Made in Philippines Designed By Maitland-Smith Ltd."
Like all of Maitland-Smith’s designer floor lamps and decorative lighting, this piece is intricately detailed and extraordinarily crafted from the highest quality materials. The metal elements are finely cast using the lost wax casting method and finished by hand.
We have not been able to find another example of this particular model of lamp indicating a high level of rarity.
