I never looked at it that closely until now. It is well made, very sturdy, and to my knowledge no restoration has been done. Please notice the pegs and the saw marks and nicks on the chair. Looks great as is. I am guessing it is mahogany and that it is made around 1900. Maybe earlier. The caning is in very good condition. less

In the style of Louis XV it appears to be handmade. Please note the joints, saw marks, etc. The age is difficult. There are many signs of use but you really don't notice them. This was a gift to my grandchildren and they loved it. I am guessing the chair to be mahogany and a least 100 years old. The caning is in very good shape. less
