This is a pair of lovely walnut chairs made in England, circa 1880 in the William and Mary style. They have a beautifully shaped crest to the top of each chair that has fantastic quality hand carvings. There are turned and reeded uprights on the right and left upper sides of each chair. There is a molded and shaped frame to the center of each back that is caned. The seats are in good condition, and the caning on the backs has some minor tears (see photos). The chairs have wonderfully shaped front legs with great quality turned back legs and stretchers.
