We carry authentic Antique rugs and Vintage rugs that are truly one of a kind made all by hand with organic dyes and natural hand-spun wool. These mystical pieces have all been professionally cleaned prior to being listed and ready to use. Our entire collection is carefully curated with an extremely picky and discerning eye that captures the heart and soul of these weavers, and the story they share in their nomadic masterpieces.
Name: STUNNING Slender European Sized Antique Heriz-Serapi | Sophisticated Old World Art
Size: 8.2 x 13
Age: Antique, C. 1910-20's
Pile: Low Pile with wonderful patina and age-related wear; throughout you'll find some areas of Kashmiri restoration (flat-weave style) which are very hard to tell (see pics). This is a very old piece and those areas can be restored if you want but in my opinion it doesn't need it at all.
About: RARE SIZE for all my European Cottages, Italianate living spaces, and even Older Townhomes that may have a slender feel or lives a bit more narrow than your typical American home - this piece is for YOU! Take a good look at how pretty this piece is; iconic color palette with all natural and matured dyes softened by time, climate, and environment. The Starburst medallion with elongated finials add to the length of this piece giving it almost a Kelleh Gallery Runner feel but still remaining as a true Area rug. Tons of gorgeous natural dyes; rusty reds to a softer madder root, denim and ice blues, amazing pastel greens, airy antique beige, salmon, coral, rose, camel, caramel, and more. Lots of space throughout the design which adds to that artistic and orgnaic creative flair that these weavers got to take and run with at the loom - this space offers movement in the rug and the curls and arabesque nature of the vines show the quality and fineness of the weave - many tribal rugs can't get the curved angles as well because the knots are a bit larger and it looks more clunky or choppy, this piece took more time and was woven by probably a bit more seasoned weavers to achieve this sort of movement - powerful stuff! You will LOVE this piece if you can navigate this super unique size!!
This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one in the world, no others are available.
Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.

We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding. less
