This vintage sandpainting feature a Hunchback yei ('a god of harvest, a god of plenty, a god of mist') and the fox (known to possess mystical healing power). The back reads "hunch back yei: Navajo fox." It is marked "Cortez, Colorado" and dated "July 1992. The artist's first name is "Holly" but the last name is difficult to make out "Watier?). The symbols and art originated as a Navajo healing ceremony. This is a lovely piece of authentic Southwestern decor.
