Designed in the 1930s by renowned Swedish designer Greta Magnusson-Grossman for her own company, Firma Studio, this very rare and elegant oak bar cabinet features a rotating, double-sided design, with each side featuring a pair of doors with metal handles, and its own specific key for locking. Inside, the cabinet features bottle racks and shelves for flatware. After a thorough inspection of its structure and condition, this bar cabinet was meticulously restored by a historic conservator, staying true to the original intentions of the designer. This piece is hence unequaled in its rarity and appearance, and it will most definitely add character to one’s interior and brighten up the space by adding a touch of style and elegance.
This incredible bar cabinet was designed for Firma Studio, a company founded in 1933 by Greta Magnusson-Grossman and her classmate Erik Ullrich, after completing their studies at the prestigious Stockholm arts institution, Konstfack. The store and workshop were located at Stureplan in central Stockholm. Greta Magnusson-Grossman’s designs were included in numerous international exhibitions at institutions such as The Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, the Röhsska Museet in Gothenburg, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Industry and Science in Chicago, and the de Young Museum in San Francisco.
