Large, decorative hand-forged brass table/floor lamp, nicely aged and patinated. Dutch design, attributed to The Amsterdam School movement. The hammered brass resembles the craftsmanship of designers/artisans like Johan Verhey or Hendrik Methorst, representatives of the Amsterdam School movement. On the base there are 6 hot forged brass twisted rods holding the gallery and socket.
The vintage shade has 4 brass rings and completes the lamp but can easily be changed if desired. Once lit it spreads a very nice soft light
Equipped with one socket for an E27 light bulb.
In very good vintage condition with a beautiful patina. On/off switch (new) on the base of the lamp. A few minor wipe marks on the shade but hardly visible.

The Amsterdam School (Dutch: Amsterdamse School) is a style of architecture that arose from 1910 through about 1930 in the Netherlands. The Amsterdam School movement is part of international Expressionist architecture, sometimes linked to German Brick Expressionism.
The Amsterdam School style spread beyond architecture to encompass interior design, with the result that items ranging from furniture and carpets to lamps and clocks were produced. Interest revived in the 1970s as well as at the beginning of the 21st century. less
