This is for a Wonderful Antique English Georgian Sheffield Plate Wine Cooler. The piece measures: 8.25 inches tall x 9.5 inches wide with the handles x 8 inches diameter. The silver would be over a copper base.
The piece is from circa the mid 19th century which is seen in the way it is constructed via the base and how it is weighted. The wine chiller / champagne holder has an etched Family crest on one side. The base is decorated with a beautiful pattern on the bowl to leaves on the handle connections to scrolling and shells on the rim.
There is no noted wearing of the silver plate on areas like the handles to the raised decoration on the bowl, which is unusual. The outside is esp in amazing condition with wear noted on the inside. This was obviously loved and taken care of through out its use. Make sure to dry when done with use so that the piece stays beautiful for another 200 years! Appox date of creation is before 1860 per the way the silver was applied to the copper base.
Majority of my items for sale are pre-loved treasures that were most likely purchased at a local Estate Sale or a local resale shop in Arizona. I may or may not know details but do spend time researching information to provide details the best I can and to pass along fair prices.
