Soft and compelling, this mirror recalls the romantic white-washed French Provincial style of furniture. The solid wood frame and the background behind the design is in maple wood. The inlays, more correctly referred to as marquetry, are made up of many different species of hardwoods, which in this design usually includes koa, rosewood, purpleheart, padauk, satinwood and madrone unless limited availability required the substitution of a different hardwood. No two pieces are ever the same, due to the nature of the wood with its varying colors and grains.

Marquetry is the ancient art of using the natural grains, colors and textures of exotic veneers to form elegant decorative patterns and designs. This was taken to its highest level as a true art form by artist Jeff Nelson who designed this mirror, titled "Rosette" for the Hudson River Inlay company.

This mirror with its richly nuanced design of roses, flowers, leaves on a long gracefully undulating stems surrounding an elegant beveled glass mirror will enhance the beauty of any room that it graces.

The overall size is 25.5 inches by 31.5 inches. The decorative border is 3.5 inches and the beveled mirror measures 21.25 inches by 15.25 inches. less
