There is also dust that has collected over time within the back hole of each dog. The base of each dog has darkened over time with age as well. The age of this pair is estimated given my research. I cannot guarantee that this is an official antique pair of dogs, but their characteristics such as size difference and mismatched paint application suggests that they are as well as knowledge that the estate’s owner lived in England for a number of years.
