A vintage Rookwood Pottery vase date marked 1926. The American art pottery Arts & Crafts production vase is decorated with an artistic matte glaze of a velvety dusty rose-pink with mottled accents of pale green around the mouth, rim, and shoulder.
Very good condition with typical crazing, measuring 6.5 in. height x 4 in. diameter (at widest), with Rookwood's RP flame trademark, XXVI [1926] / 2312 [form/shape number] impressed on the base.
Maria Longworth Nichols (1849-1932) founded Rookwood Pottery in 1880 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rookwood quickly became America's pre-eminent art pottery, winning a number of prestigious awards including the Grand Prix at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris.
