Originally from Detroit, Loughren has an undergraduate degree in Political Scince at Columbia University and a graduate degree in Sculpture and Crafts from Teachers College, Columbia University. He went on to teach in New Mexico, New York, and Chicago and eventually moved to France where he taught at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Art in Limoges. less
