Presented here is a hand-signed, limited edition lithograph by well known contemporary artist, David Salle. This diptych, entitled "Salami with Landscape", is comprised of two images juxtaposed together to form one complete work. The piece is typical of Salle's style in its use of mundane subject matter that has been elevated to an artistic form through the use of flattened shapes and bright areas of color.

American artist David Salle (b.1952) first caught the attention of the art world in the early 1980s through his randomly constructed paintings employing thick application of paint along with various images. Salle states: "When people started paying attention to my work, it seemed so unlikely that somehow it wasn't so remarkable. I made my work for a small audience of friends, other artists mostly, and that has not really changed. At the same time, having shows is a way of seeing if the work resonates with anyone else." less
